TONY CHAPMAN – SHORT CV Tony Chapman is not a qualified architect but in 2011 the RIBA made him an Honorary Fellow for his contributions to architecture as a writer, film-maker and for his work as the RIBA's Head of Awards. Previously he made BBC documentaries about architecture and the built environment, including the modernists' riposte to the Prince of Wales. He is the author of 20 books including two on the Stirling Prize, a children's book on architecture and three novels. He is currently doing an MA in creative writing and working on a book with the Swiss architect Peter Zumthor and another about 50 architecture competitions over the past 50 years. He has judged many architecture awards including the Mies van der Rohe Prize, The RIBA Awards and the AJ Architecture Awards. He sits on the RIBA's Awards Group advising on and judging all its awards programmes.
