The town of Sremski Karlovci, located on the right bank of the Danube, is a place of great architectural and cultural significance. Its rich history and heritage make it a valuable location for preservation and development. In order to enhance the town's urban landscape and address various issues, a comprehensive urban transformation project has been proposed. This project consists of four main components: landscape design of the historic city center, facade conservation, market square improvement, and reconstruction of the Esikovacki Stream.

The landscape design component of the project involves comprehensive planning, including the construction and reconstruction of infrastructure systems networks. This includes modifications to traffic regimes to improve safety for all users, as well as the integration of hardscape and softscape elements. The aim is to address the poor infrastructure, deteriorating facades, lack of greenery, and underdeveloped public areas in the historic city center. New trees will be planted along the streets, and damaged green areas will be revitalized. The lighting design will be inspired by traditional street lanterns, adding to the historical charm of the town. Facade conservation is another important aspect of the urban transformation project. The preservation of the town's historic facades is crucial to maintaining its architectural and cultural heritage. This component will involve the restoration and conservation of existing facades, as well as the implementation of guidelines for new construction and renovation to ensure that the town's architectural character is preserved. The market square improvement component of the project aims to enhance the public space in the town center. This will involve redesigning the layout of the square to create a more inviting and functional space for residents and visitors. The market square will be revitalized with new landscaping, seating areas, and improved pedestrian access. Finally, the reconstruction of the Ešikova?ki Stream is an important part of the urban transformation project. This component will focus on revitalizing the stream and its surrounding areas, creating a more attractive and sustainable environment. This will involve improvements to the stream's infrastructure, as well as the creation of green spaces and recreational areas along its banks. Overall, the urban transformation project for Sremski Karlovci aims to enhance the town's historic city center, preserve its architectural and cultural heritage, and create a more attractive and sustainable urban environment for residents and visitors. By addressing issues such as poor infrastructure, deteriorating facades, and underdeveloped public areas, the project will contribute to the long-term preservation and development of this important historic town.
