ANGELA DAPPER

Principal , Grimshaw

Angela is a Principal at Grimshaw, currently focused on office and hotel projects, and combining place making, connectivity, health and wellbeing, and sustainability. This will be her 10th year on the WAN awards jury. Previously, Angela was a Partner at Denton Corker Marshall (DCM) Architects in London, leading a variety of projects; including new office, hotel and resort projects; the refurbishment of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel; and the Aesop flagship store Sloane Square. Notably she led the widely lauded Stonehenge Visitor Centre for DCM from design to completion. Angela was recently awarded the 2020 'Woman Architect of the Year' by the Women in Construction + Engineering awards. In addition to her architectural work, Angela is a keen advocate for diversity - she chairs Grimshaw's umbrella diversity group; is a RIBA Part 3 examiner; an occasional lecturer, mentor, public speaker; Ambassador for the Architect's Benevolent Society; member of the UK Construction Week Advisory Panel; curator of the 2020 London Festival of Architecture; and mother to two amazing children and one dog.
