Founder and Principal Architect , POA Architects
Pan Chengshou is the Founder and Principal Architect of POA Architects. He holds a Master's degree in Architecture from the University of Hong Kong and has more than 15 years of professional experience in architecture. He is a Chartered Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), an Associate Member of the American Institute of Architects (Assoc. AIA), and a LEED AP BD+C accredited professional. His practice encompasses public architecture, municipal infrastructure, commercial spaces, and urban regeneration, with several landmark projects completed under his leadership. His work is rooted in local culture while addressing user experience, low-carbon material strategies, and community value. His practice explores how architecture can meet the functional and efficiency demands of contemporary cities while creating spaces that foster a sense of belonging and connection with nature. Drawing inspiration from the spatial traditions of Chinese gardens, he incorporates courtyards, landscapes, and connections between interior and exterior spaces into everyday architecture rather than limiting these ideas to cultural building types. He places strong emphasis on originality and spatial quality, while also ensuring that design responds to user needs, site conditions, and practical construction requirements. His representative completed projects include the "Wangshan Qingshui" Water Treatment Plant in Wenzhou (municipal infrastructure, 13,080 m²), the "Phoenix Green Valley" International Supply Chain Project in Yiwu (public architecture, 895,473 m²), Wenzhou Gold International Plaza (commercial space, 56,763.88 m²), and the W City Crown (public architecture, 34452.51 m²). His works have received numerous international design awards, including the 2024 Architecture MasterPrize (AMP), 2024 International Design Awards (IDA), 2025 International Architecture Awards (IAA), and 2025 BLT Built Design Awards. Pan Chengshou was also a recipient of the 2024 Perspective 40 Under 40 Awards. He has been invited multiple times to serve as a juror for international design competitions and has participated in international academic and exhibition events, including the World Architecture Festival and World Architecture Exhibition.
