Nigel Tonks is a Director of Arup and leads Buildings London. He is a member of the UKIMEA Board, where he holds the Regional portfolios for Sustainable Development and Professional Excellence. He is a partner in our relationship with the UK Green Buildings Council and the Open Data Institute. With Arup University, he is the sponsor for the UKIMEA Conceptual Design Mastery Course. He fosters a multidisciplinary environment, leading multi-professional collaborations with signature architects, delivering high quality, passive and low energy developments. He is a Building Services Engineer with a background in the mechanical engineering and environmental design of buildings. He has delivered high quality sustainable development in the UK and around the world. His recent projects include the renovation of the Royal Academy of Arts in London, the headquarters for the Nobel Institute in Stockholm, the Edinburgh Music Venue and the headquarters building for Amorepacific in Seoul.
