Richard Coutts

Principle and Founder, Baca Architects

Richard is Team Principal and Founder of Baca Architect, an international award-winning design practice, which specialises in integrating high quality design with environmental issues. Since its launch in 2003, the practice has established a core specialism in innovative waterfront design and flood resilience, and Richard has become one of Europe's foremost experts on co-designing with water. His projects harness the potential of water to create extraordinary hospitality destinations above, alongside and below the waterline; they also mitigate the risk of flooding to achieve safe, harmonious and people-centric dwellings in cities and the countryside alike. Richard is a member of the RIBA's Policy Team and supports DEFRA's Core Cities Flood Advisory Group at No.10 Downing Street.
