The WAN Landscape Award seeks to identify designs that respond to and enhance the built environment through the creation of engaging, meaningful places. From interactive public spaces to major infrastructure works, enhancements and small developments to the largest master plans, this category provides the ideal platform to showcase the ground-breaking work being carried out across the world today.

We are looking for successful landscape architecture demonstrating sensitivity towards the inherent characteristics of the site and sympathy towards the expectations of the community. Projects that enrich people's experience and provide an uplifting public realm will be particularly key to success.

Entries will be assessed by a panel of experts, who will be rewarding designs that are setting new standards within landscape design.

Judging Criteria

The judges will use their experience in the sector to assess your project on a number of factors to get to the short list including; Originality, Innovation, Form, Function, Sustainability and Context.

The shortlisted projects will then be tested to see whether your design has:

  • Addressed any key challenges within the client brief
  • Pushed the accepted boundaries for this project type using innovation and original design features.

Presentation is also of great importance, and judges will be looking for your ability to communicate the 'story' of your building, from the initial concept through to its completion.

The competition is open to all projects built during the last five full calendar years, on or after 01 January 2013.
