We believe there are five key elements to our programme’s success. First and paramount is the quality of and commitment made by the WAN judges. Over the past nine years, our extensive panel of top international experts have committed not only their valuable time but their wealth of experience, objectivity and above all, their passion for good design.
The second building block is the global reach of the WAN network - 144,000 subscribers to our newsletters, over 800,000 website visitors with nearly five million page views per year along with over 700,000 social media followers. It is this reach that enables us to deliver fresh architecture to the jury table; architecture that inspires both the judges and the participants. The positive exposure from winning a WAN AWARD against stiff competition from around the world, judged by some of the world’s best known names, has been proven to enhance the practice’s profile and boost chances of winning new work. We make sure the news appears on computer screens and mobiles around the world in minutes, but the benefits for your practice last.
We believe the third reason for the loyalty to the WAN AWARDS is that architects respect our approach, our radical shake up of the traditional architectural awards programme, creating a robust judging process, at its core are the groups of highly specialised panels representing all of the stakeholders in a project; representatives, engineers and specialist consultants to get a rounded opinion on each submitted project the attention that your projects deserve.
The WAN AWARDS are also highly regarded for being objective, we have created and sustained a level playing field for original design. As testament to this, winners have ranged from a house designed by one man practice in South Africa to Beijing Airport by Foster and Partners.
The last but not least building block is the dedication of the WAN AWARDS team. Our small hardworking team headed by Francesca Rowe are passionate about keeping our programme on track and above all maintaining the integrity and standards that are intrinsic to your success.
Good luck for 2018!
